2005 Iowawhitetail Spring Turkey Contest!

Well-Known Member
Though this is a bit late in coming out I am happy to announce the 2005 spring turkey challenge here on Iowawhitetail. The contest is open to all current PMA members and anyone else who signs up before the end of Iowa spring season. Also, this contest is open to any PMA member in their home states as well, so you don't let your home state deter you from joining up to get into the contest. Contest rules are as follows:

The hunter must PM/email (muddy@iowawhitetail.com) me the following measurements:

1. Weight of bird in pounds and ounces
2. Length of beard measured to nearest 1/16 of an inch
3. Lentgh of each spur to the nearest 1/16 of an inch

To be eligible for the contest you must be a PMA member by the end of Iowa 4th turkey season on May 15, 2005.

If you're a PMA member in a neighboring state and you've already spanked a bird, PM me the details and we'll get you entered in right away!

If you're a PMA member in a neighboring state and your season runs longer than Iowa season you must PM/email me the ending date of your season.

I will then calculate the score based upon the NWTF measureing guidelines. At the end of the season I will post the winners through 3 places. The reason behind this is so that someone doesn't bump up their score by a few 1/16 of an inch to edge someone else out.

Prizes will be given through 3 places, prizes are as follows:

1st prize - Iowawhitetail shirt
2nd prize - Iowawhtietail hat
3rd prize - Iowawhitetail arrow wraps

If there are ANY questions or comments please feel free to discuss them here and now.

Don't know when Ia ends, but my season runs may 13th to may 26th...its our "new" archery only over the counter season. If anyone from IA is interested in hunting it the tag is 78$ for NR's. A pretty good deal for a 14 day season in my view. Good luck to all you guys! Can't wait!

I'm assuming we can enter more than one bird. I'll have 3 tags this year.

So what are you trying to say here Dave?

You want the shirt, hat, and arrow wraps?

Hrmmm... I never really figured on that scenario.

Since we have so many members I'd like to spread the love around. I am going to say that each PMA member can only win one prize, though if you have 3 tags you may enter your biggest bird. Sorry, no one will be able to sweep the prizes.

LOL at Blake

I certainly don't think I'll sweep anything.... except my garage floor after plucking three turkeys

Muddy, that's cool bro, I'll just score them all, combine the scores and PM the score to you.

That's cool.... just send in the biggest! I got it. Good luck everyone!

"Chris if I come up can you put me on the Toms?"

Just hoping to put myself on some Ironwood! If I stumble into a surplus I will let you know. I have a tough enough time killing stuff for myself

As of right now we only have one entry, that being dirtball, posting a score here DOES NOT enter you into the contest. The rules state that all measurements must be sent to me and I will tally stuff up, sorry if there was any confusion.

**REMINDER**

To all PMA members!! If you want to get in on the turkey contest this spring please PM me the measurements according to the rules stated above. Right now, we only have 2 entries, those being dirtball and rutnstrut. Posting stats on your own DOES NOT enter you into the contest.

Thanks!

*BUMP*

Iowa season is now over, if you plan on entering your bird PM me the measurements as I stated above. This contest is open to PMA members only and you may only enter one bird, that way no one "super turkey slayer" (like Limb) can sweep the prizes.

Contest ends on June 1, 2005, winners will be announced shortly after that.
