2006 Spring Turkey Season

What a wonderful 2006 Spring Turkey season this turned out to be. This was by far the most successful turkey season that I have ever hunted in Iowa. The weather was for the most part good, and the woods came alive with the sounds of songbirds and gobblers every morning. I was fortunate enough to share the turkey woods and participate in the harvest of six nice gobblers this spring.

My hunting partner’s were friends and family members, several first time turkey hunters, some had a few seasons under their belt’s, and some were seasoned veterans.

We used a variety of methods to harvest these fine birds, spot and stalk, run & gun, and calling them in. Certainly not every method we tried worked every time, but we remained persistent, and we prevailed in the end.

To those of you that were kind enough to share the turkey woods with me this year I just want to say thank you, I truly enjoyed every minute of our hunts together.

Here a few photos of our hunts:

Hats off to another great season in the turkey woods! I'll share a double bull blind with you anyday (if you can pardon my snoring at early hours)
