Rules for this years turkey contest are going to be pretty straight forward.

1. HAVE FUN!!

2. You are allowed to enter ONE bird for your final score.

3. You are allowed to upgrade your bird only ONCE. If you shoot a nice one, then shoot a better one you may upgrade to the second bird. If you shoot yet another bird that has fifteen beards and 3 inch hooks, too bad, so sad, you won't get to use the big dawg in the IW bird contest... cheer up though, because that's a world record and you'll get fortune & glory.

4. Score your bird according to the National Wild Turkey Federation scoring system and PM me the results. I will not hunt down through the harvest posts to find your score, if you do not PM the final score to me you will not be entered in the contest.

5. All legal means of turkey killing are eligible and there will be even scoring whether you use gun or bow.

6. I am not going to play big brother and make you post pictures of all the specific measurements, I will trust that you're all honest enough to not fudge your data. I would, however, request that you at least post a harvest picture of your kill for all to enjoy in the Harvest Form.

7. I reserve the right to make additions to the rules because I always forget something.

I will be drawing teams out sometime next week and if there are any late entries I will try to make accommodations. As it stands I am not sure on how prizes will turn out because I have laid my grubby paws on more loot and will have to adjust accordingly.

ya Mudster, i got a question
if i already shot a bird and then upgraded with another larger bird.......

what if i shoot a monster B-52 butterball, and he has 15 beards and 3 inch hooks, and weighs upwards of 40 pounds
can i enter him in......just because he is part feeder pig

I move the nomintions close and the nominee be declared winner by........damn, not a good time to forget what Roberts Rules of Order call that. I think its a one word thing but........"accent decree" works, maybe "unanimus consent"? Anybody got the book?
