It's been a little over a year since I took Joe Meders class. 11 mounts later I decided to enter 3 in the ITA amateur division to see how they stacked up. I had a great time at the show and met some good people including Stuffy the ITA president and Iowawhitetail member. (Sorry, no turkey for you to mount Durk, I get Tom fever something terrible)
Got some excellent critiques from the judge and Joe. I ended up getting blue ribbons for all 3 mounts. I'm excited to enter a piece in the professional division next year. Maybe I'll even get around to mounting the buck I shot this fall when I finish 4 more for friends and family.

This mount also won me Research Manikins Best Amateur of the show award.
If you are on the fence about taking Joe Meder's class and learning taxidermy let me say it is worth it! Not easy, but worth it.
