I set my home brew just above the D40 the evening of the 21st (Tuesday). I went out to check them this AM and I had 296 pics of St. Francis on the home brew and nothing on the D40 till 0215 on the 22nd, about 7 hours after I set up the cams.

The home brew started taking pics about every minute till the card was full. That is about 5 hours. Interestingly enough, I had the DIPs set for every 15 sec. So my plan now is to set the DIPs for every 60 sec, turn down the sensitivity and put it back out.

Oh yeah, there was moisture in the case, not dripping wet, but damp. Don't know if it was condensation or my case might leak some. I'm gonna put more goo around the holes. Anybody know where I can get little packets of dessicant?

Make sure you have a new battery in the board. They do that when the 9 v is starting to go bad. Also, dessicant can be had from a Pharmacy.

The board is 5-12? volts and the camera is 6 so I bought a 6v sealed lead acid unit for it. I'm gonna put the meter to it and see how far down it was drained.

I'll look for dessicant when I get my copper free chlorophyll.

Thanks for the tip.

You mean I wasn't supposed to eat those things? No wonder my stuff was dry.

And you were worried about a little copper.

Has your homebrew ever worked properly? I've been wrong before but if you were having battery problems...I wouldn't have thought it would have taken pics for 5 hours.

Looks damp... do you suppose St. Francis has been sneezing?

Maybe you need a faster trigger speed to catch him in the act.

When I brought it in yesterday I thought it was just damp, but there was enough water in the case to make puddles. I put a new card in the camera and powered it up. The canera turned on but the PIR light stayed on meaning the battery didn't have enough juice to power up the board. The battery read 5.9 volts and the board is supposed to function down to 5 volts. I charged the battery and I'm letting the board/camera/case/foam dry out before I put it back together. Incedently, the battery had 6.2 volts when I put it out so 296 pics all with flash dropped the voltage 0.3 volts. I'm hoping the board didn't funtion due to dampness not voltage.
