The first one doesn't know it now, but it was I who caused such a commotion last September at about 20 yards as I stuck an arrow in the buck he had chosen to be his travelling companion that Saturday morning. I didn't know it at the time but I had a set of 5x5 sheds from him when he was 2 1/2. He was lucky enough to leave me a shed smack dab in the middle of the road on new Year's day and the match ended up being only about 30 yards away. I got them home and quickly put the pair and the pair from the year before together. I decided to call him Roadie for lack of a better handle. I am sure he's 4 1/2 now and had thought he may turn into a doozy in a couple yrs as he was a nice 10 last yr and a cute little 10 the yr before,..he lost his one g4 it seems this yr.

This buck is a little older. He's always been a clean 8 but he appears to have added a couple small g4's this yr. I think he's 5 1/2. Doesn't appear any larger than he was last yr as an 8. Winter..it's hitting them all in the antler growth department this year.

Even when they don't add a bunch of antler, it's always nice to see themk around when the New Year begins for me.................when the leaves begin to change and the velvet comes off. It's the start of what I feel to be a new beginning.

Those are some dandies and it's awesome that you have some history with each. I really like the browtines on that second buck. You couldn't have said it any better.....and that time of year is getting closer! Its feeling more and more like fall everyday.......

Great bucks even though the winters that you have had.

Heck, the last 2 mornings it has felt like fall around here!
