A Don Higgins Answer:

I plan on purchasing Mr. Higgin's book. Especially since he gave me a personal answer to a question. I have bounced this question around here. I asked him which antlers sounded better real or synthetic. Then I asked him when to call and rattle. I told him I am always hesitant, for fear that calling blindly would scare a good buck off. He told me that he is not much for calling. That mature bucks are flighty enough. He only calls if he sees a big buck walking off out of range and he wants to see if he can get him back.
What do you all think of that advice? Thought it nice though, he gave me a personal response.

Mr. Higgins knows his stuff. but, i have called in many a buck from blind attempts. you dont just bang the horns together, but by being conservative and using common sense, the deer can be fooled i follow a specific sequence and have experienced some exciting hunts. again he knows his stuff and is not wrong in his approach...obviously
but what i have done works for me
different strokes for different folks
