Finally got time to down load some pics. This is is the buck I harvested Nov 5th. My buddy and I got permission to hunt on a new piece of ground on Nov 1st, and we couldn't hang stands until the crops were out of the fields per the landowners request. So, we did a little scouting and found some main travel corridors and what we thought were a couple of bedding areas. We didn't have much to go on with no trail cam photos of any giants yet, but we knew the farm hadn't been hunted at all in several years. The farmer finished picking corn the morning of the 4th, and we hung our stands that afternoon. Went home and got pumped up for the next morning. Got in the stand about an hour before shooting light, and I could see and hear deer moving in the corn about 5 min after I got in the stand. About 7:40 a doe wandered a litlle to close and I took her out. I would have been happy right there for the day. About an hour later, this buck came by, and by his body I could tell he was mature, so I made the decision to let the G5 fly. Double lunged him at 32 yds, now I'm really pumped when I saw him go down. Then about 9:00 AM another doe snuck in from behind me, and she worked her away around in front of me at about 20 yds, so I let another G5 fly and harvested her as well. All 3 deer piled up about 50 yds away not more than 30 yds from each other. Needless to say it was one heck of a morning. And one long afternoon of skinning and butchering.
This isn't the biggest buck I have ever killed with my bow, but he is mature and based on his field dress wieght of close to 250 #'s and his pedicle size a little past his prime. I can't complain, I'm a firm believer in taking the opportunities that your given.
