The weather is finally starting to look like spring, and Friday morning the turkeys made it sound like spring. Gobbling all around me in the blind, and this guy came in by about 6:45. Hit him just about where I wanted to at 20 yards, and after a short search, team NW was on the board :way:
24.5 pounds, nice spurs of 1 1/8 each, and a double beard. Longest beard is 9 inches. The shorter one looks to have had beard rot, and other than a couple of long strands, was just a couple of inches. I'm giving credit to the lucky IW arrow wraps
A couple of friends were hunting nearby with the boomsticks, and by 8:00 we had 3 dandy longbeards down. Fun morning...
Slow grilled half of the breast for supper last night while basting it with butter and beer....amazing :drink2:
