Well I have been pretty bummed since march or so. I had about 100 pictures of just this buck alone last summer. We decided to pass him and give him atleast another year.
He tempted us quite a bit. The first day my buddy had him at 10 yards but he stuck to his word and let him walk. Come rut I rattled him in 5 times 1 morning. He had broke himself up pretty good so it was a lot easier to tape him than decide whether or not to shoot. That night I had my wife out on her first bowhunt and he walked by at a mere 5 yards. Once again we let the camera roll and him walk. By the end of november he had pretty much destroyed his rack.
I got pictures of him all through the winter and stopped getting pictures right around the time they should be shed out. The only problem is I kept getting pictures of a shed buck that had the same scars as he did but he kept looking thinner and thinner every week untill one day I found what I thought was him dead about thirty yards from my camera. I just put cameras out again about 3 weeks ago and pulled the cards this last weekend. I have thought he was dead the whole time untill now. I know this is a hard picture to tell but it is my only one so far. The brow tines look just like him. Let me know what you guys think.
