as some of you know i've had a heck of a time with an old white hen, she didn't show up tonite (as usual) but persistance has paid off again.

i put a major stomping down tonite. went doe/white turkey hunting and had to "settle" for a pretty sweet tom. no blind, up close, and personal.

11 1/2 inch beard

and the grand finale....

15 yard head shot with the bow!!

i may have complained about birds running off with expandables this spring but i got a complete pass through and this tom didn't know what hit him!! i think from now on i'll just shoot the stupid birds in the head so as not to run after them!! pics to come later.

if i misss the tape gets thrown in the creek below us. thats a pretty nice tom and pretty nice shot, if you shot a good bow like a fred bear trx 32 you would of put it straight threw the eyeballs

That's a nice bird and a darn good shot also.

I killed a white hen once with my bow. She was'nt solid white but it was the dominant color of her pen feathers and she really stood out in the flock. There was actually two of them in that flock.

One of these days I'll digitize some pics from my photo album and post the photo.

Here's a pic of the white hen. It took a couple of years and three arrows to get her after I first saw it. I missed her or her sister twice before. Then one day I spied them in a flock of about thirty birds working the edge of a pasture. So I circled around ahead of them and bushwacked her from about 15 yards.
