Last night I was driving home from Maryville, Mo, and I was passing through taylor county on highway 2. As I went around a curve I could see flashing lights up in the distance. So as I came closer I slowed down, and returned my cruise control on as I passed by.
Immediatley once I did that I could see the cop run to his SUV and haul ass after me. Upon approaching the passenger side of my vehicle, he said the reason he pulled me over was because my exhaust seemed to get loud when I passed by (I drive a diesel). Immediatley the cop went right into asking if I hunted (now imagine a very fast talking, younger cop) and I told him I had a shotgun in the back seat loaded.
"Oh ya you should always keep that loaded at any time you never know when thats gonna go south. By the way did you know the rut is supposedly going on right now. Down here in taylor county we got deer just running around everywhere all crazy like. Why just tonight I had a 17 point buck that had to weight at least 250 pounds get destroyed by a truck just like this. Broke his damn rack in half and everything. So do you bow hunt too, I've never done it but I heard its a blast and can be a real challenge." (meanwhile during all this I can barely get a word in.) Oh you carry a xd40 to huh, oh ya thats a really great gun just gotta reset the trigger pull on it ya know.
Eventually I was able to speak again and I asked if I was being ticketed for anything, "oh no your good to go, I just wanted to warn you about this rut were having and all the deer movement here in taylor county. Drive safe and be careful, wouldn't want you to hit any"
