The Hunt Never Ends....
Adidas is a buck that I have known now for the past four years. I first knew of him after finding his left side on a march shed hunt.

The next two years went by without any sightings, pics, or findings of the buck. The shed sat in a pile of others, and I seldom looked at it or even thought much of it.

Last summer (08) Adidas showed up on the cameras again. He had grown quite a bit and I think he was 6.5 years old. I had pictures of him on a regular basis, however, before he shed his velvet he disappeared to what I felt was a new area.

Finally, my cameras caputured a picture of Adidas at a scrape in late October. He was still around, but was he just passing through?

Hunting season came in and left as quickly as it began. It was now late February and the shed season had started. My good friend and hunting partner stumbled upon Adidas' right side in a area that we really didn't hunt much last year, close to where I had pics of him during the rut. The puzzle of Adidas was beginning to come together. We feel that we now know where he likes to call home.

This year I had high hopes that Adidas would show up again on the cameras. However, the summer was winding down and Adidas still hadn't shown up. Finally, on August 26th he showed himself back to his favorite camera site. Its ironic that just one summer before Adidas came to this camera site on a regular basis until August 26th, and this year he doesnt show up at all until August 26th. He's still been showing up. Since I first got pictures of him this year he's been hanging out with a group of 5+ does, almost like they are in a herd. Kinda strange. It looks like he didn't get much bigger, but he's got some neat acorn tips on his left G2 and right G3. He's got a horse of a body as well.

We'll see what this fall brings but he is one of the guys high up on my hit list.

That is a great story to go along with a great buck! Is the camera close to what you believe to be his hom range that you mentioned? Hopefully you can stick that guy this year.

I can't wait to see how this story unfolds!! I hope you stick that guy this fall.

dude, that's popcan's tree.

you have some nice options this year...i look forward to seeing what comes together for you.

thanks for sharing.

He's hitting this spot about once every 2-3 weeks. I'm pretty sure that he's living about 3/4 of a mile away in some of the roughest country in southern Iowa. A very rural spot with a long walk, but i've got a few stands hung there this summer that I hope he walks by.

you better stay away from that buck he is mine boys!
