May be tough to get them but I always reformat as that has happened to me many times :( Maybe a computer store could access for you?

Stupid question probably but how do you reformat a SD card? I've had the same thing happen to me a couple of times with my Moultries.

I had my covert do the same thing one time.my biggest problem i had is that in my user guide it said to use up to a 2 gig card and i was using a 4 gig card.It didnt work.

My moultrie can go up to 16gbs and it's an 8gb. SEIowaDeerslayer, you put the card in and then right click on it when it pops up and it will say format and you click it and press quick format then press start.

Not stupid question at all. I use a computer to look at my pics.

Once you attach the card reader do the following:
1) Go to my computer and click on it
2) The "card" you are using will pop up as an option, place your cursor on it and RIGHT CLICK
3) "Format" will come up and click it
4) Use FAT32 as option and remember it erases EVERYTHING but will clear it to work anywhere and on any trail cam
5) Also makes it easier to clear cards :)

id get a new card, and the chances of you getting the pix off are nilch without spending a boatload of cash. it sucks, but it happens.

Both of my cuddy capture IRs did that to me a couple weeks ago on the same card pull. Both cameras had dead batteries when I pulled the card. I don't know if that is what caused it or what but I can tell this. DON'T BUY A CUDDY CAPTURE IR. Batteries go dead after like 100 pics, one seems to be stuck on IR even during daylight, and the pics are'nt that good when it is working right. $52 dollar bushnells I got off ebay work as well or better. If anyone disagrees PM me and I will sell you two cuddies for $52 apiece

What? You can't read that? Better study harder in school!!! :)

I haven't seen that problem yet with my Moultrie.. You take a lot of pictures, maybe change the cards more often??? Good Luck..

Try downloading a couple free recovery programs. I have used a few and they all work, but i currently use Pandora Recovery.
I usually like to try and use this on any used memory cards i buy, just to see what was on them. Sometimes you can find some
really interesting pictures they thought they had erased.

I once read when you delete any pictures they are still on the card. The camera just adds another letter or something onto the
file name to make it look like it's not on there. The only time they are gone for good is if you have pictures write over top of hidden ones.

You would be better off reformatting with the trailcamera you plan on using rather then the computer. Sometime the trailcameras wont
recognize a card that has been formatted on a different device. Not usually, but sometimes.

With the pictures filenames looking so screwed up, there is a chance they can't be recovered. It is worth a try though.
