I've been having trouble determining the age of this buck. I say he's 3.5 a buddy says 4.5. What do you think? Also, regardless of age, I'd like to see him make it another year. Anyone agree or would you shoot?

I'd say he's 3.5 this year. Doesn't have the big belly or swayed back of a 4+ deer. Plus, his snout has kind of a stubby look to it yet.

Looks like a 3.5 year old to me. Same reasons that 180 stated. Should be a dandy next year.

Not the best angle to tell but I agree that he's probably a 3 year old. I'd guess he's a year away from being a real dandy.

I bet when that HOSS is in rut he'll look every bit of 4.5!!!

It's hard to say...but his front shoulders aren't as built as you'd expect a 4.5 year olds to be, but his haunches look fat.

Oh yeah, and I agree with you...it would be sweet to see him in another year.

If you think he won't get poached, or can make it through all the seasons...then pass him up if you're given an opportunity.

Looks like a 3.5 to me his snout is still pretty short. If you are happy with him then go for it. I think if he was on my farm though I would like to see what he might become next year. He could really turn into something special. good luck either way.
