Agriculture tile easement

I had a guy ask me how much he should charge the neighbor that is asking for a 350 foot tile easement?

The other option is for the neighbor to dig him a pond in exchange ? He has the equipment.

Has anyone dealt with this ? Numbers, what did you charge etc..

So your friend is downstream and the tile would go through his also draining his wet ground? Is it crop ground or trees on your friend’s?

It would drain into a ditch/creek. No trees dug up or anything significant.

I had a similar situation.. had no clue what to charge. Got lucky and asked another neighbor what they’d charge and asked some area tile guys. Was a few variables in price and i’m sure it changes depending on area but hopefully neighbors/tile companies around there can ballpark it

Also were a few legal questions on future responsibilities of the tile within the easement. Was more complicated than I thought it should have been in that case

It's always complicated. Do tons of research and IMO come up with the right neighborly decisions. Every situation is unique. Could the guy uphill just dump the water on the lower guy asking for money? Can the lower guy benefit from tile? Lots of considerations.
