Dysart man gets probation for deer buzzing
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- A man who authorities say used a parachute plane to drive deer toward a hunter near the Tama and Benton county line was fined $1,000 and placed on one year probation.
Steven Douglas Risse, 59, of Dysart, was found guilty on May 31 of using an aircraft to harass animals. He was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court.
Court records show that Risse used the powered parachute plane to chase deer toward hunters on the ground on the opening day of shotgun deer season in December 2004.
