My hunt was Thursday April 29th. It was so windy in the morning i couldn't even hear a bird gobble. I knew there were birds there so i sat there until 9am. After not seeing a single bird i decided to drive over to a farm were the week before my dad shot a nice bird. I lost a slate call so i was going to walk in there and look for it. When i pulled up there was a bird strutting right were my dad had shot his bird! I knew i could sneek down from this bird and have a good chance to call him in. 15 min later i was in the timber close to were i had seen him from the road and then he gobbled. He was 40 yards from me strutting. I was now pinned down. I found a area to shoot though and started calling. He came in on a string. I love it when a plan comes together. This has to be the earliest i have ever been tagged out. Both my birds shot in April. And he was a nice one too.
