Alternatives to the LW seat cushion

A couple of years ago I switched to the LW hang on and love it as far as noise goes. It is absolutely silent even in low temps and I like the idea of having one stand with my trees ready to go. The system would have saved me big $ over the years. The only issue I have with the stand is the seat cushion. After a couple of days sitting in the stand from daylight to dark, the seat really starts to hurt me. I know several on here have way more experience with the stand than I do and I am looking for alternatives to the standard cushion. I have cut a couple of 1" thermaseat cushions and zip tied them on but I don't think that will be very durable over time. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I had the same problem last year, sat so long in the LW that I did physical damage to myself. Last Christmas, Santa brought me an inflatable camo seat cushion that I can snap around my waist to carry in/out of the field. It isn't the ideal situation since it shifts around as you move, but it sure helped the comfort level.

Hopefully someone has a suggestion for one that affixes to the LW seat better.

New stands coming out this year from LW...hope to see a gorilla type seat on them myself.:way:

The Muddy seat looks comparable to the Gorilla and is a little cheaper to boot. Does anyone know if it fits the LW? jjohson, what kind of deal do you have on their harness? The only reason I ask is that you have a little better price on the seat than they do on their website.

Back about the time LW tree stands were first introduced to the public I purchased the Alpha model.

This stand had a gray foam seat. The foam seat wasn’t real thick and it made my buttocks hurt after sitting in it for 4-6 hours. Then LW came out with the new style seat so I bought it thinking it would be and improvement. Not so!

My skinning butt was still hurting after a4-6 hour sit. I could barley walk after an all day sit. :(

Then the light bulb went off, I combined the old style gray foam seat and the new style seat and I am very please with this set up.

Just the right amount of padding for my old butt bones! :)

Being 6'3" a bit taller than your average I wanted a taller seat post.. Found some about 2" longer, Now my knees don't bend so much and my butt doesn't hurt while on stand either.. (All of mine are the newer thinner ones)
