AmeriStep Tripod Stool with the Swivel Seat

I wanted to warn you guys, if you are a bigger guy, ah heck I will just say it, a fat man like myself weighing approx 230 lbs, I would not buy this seat. I was at the fleet farm the other day eye balling these things thinking they would be the cat's meow for the turkey blind when I had a slightly embarassing moment. I picked up the seat and sat in it and started swiveling around thinking, man this really would be sweet, but it sits too low. That is when I noticed the legs extend so it sits higher. So I put it on the highest setting and sat back down. I swiveled to the left, then I swiveled to the right, then I swiveled back to the left and the next thing I know I am laying on my back looking up at the roof. The legs completely gave way and folded to a 90 degree angle against the floor. I quickly jumped up and put that sucker back on the rack. Just thought I would put this post out there to save someone 15- 20 bucks in the future.

I refer to myself as a husky hunter, but i to have trouble finding a chair that works well for me. The new thing on the market that i tend to use is really pretty nice... it's called a 5-gallon bucket!!! Not overly mobile, but yet handy with storage! Beware if you get clumsy in the blind it does tend to also work as a drum.

PS: another sick and twisted individual, who shall remain nameless, had to point the "fleet farm" gaff out to me. I always thought it was spelled "Fleat's"

I know I got to get back to my fighting weight before I head out to Idaho chasing elk this fall

OH OH, I just found a site that said "Fleets" and didn't look any farther. I better go check it and I'll take the link down.

I changed the link. Guess I shoulda looked a little closer at the side bars.

you're calling yourself fat at 230, I'm 6'6 270, I demolish anything that's not rated for 300+.

I second that!!!

Here is what I have found that works for fat guys like me. It is called the tote stool. My cousin makes these things. Tote Stool website
By the way I way around 270 so they hold up a lot of weight. I've had mine for 10 years.
