Has anyone shot the Ames Ikes before? Its the home of the Summer Games shoot. We are going to try to get in and shoot it tomorrow and I was curious as to its set up. A guy I'm going with spoke with someone at the Ikes and he said there wasn't a required membership and we could come up and shoot. Any of you guys been there?
 
I shot there once this summer. I'm not sure the targets are set up unless there is a special shoot.
 
It is a nice course! I think it is only setup for the scheduled shoots thought! Tell Travis Hi!
 
Well, long story short. Ames doesn't have the targets up until a tourney. We ended up shooting at their range for a bit and then went to the course north of granger. Nice set up. I hadn't been there before. Gotta love hitting new courses.
 
Yes. It's around 3 miles south of Madrid, north of the Des Moines river. Not a bad course. Has like 28 targets. They have a practice/warm up area that has a lot of 3D targets and other targets that they let you shoot at as much as you want. They also told us we could shoot through the course again if we wanted.
 
That does sound correct. Nice little shooting area with an elevated platform that my 9 year old had fun climbing up and shooting from.
