Last week when I got home from my son's state baseball tournament, I decided to hang a trail cam in a new spot along a trail. It was around 8 pm when I got to the spot. As I'm standing there choosing a tree, I catch movement and look to see a buck about to jump the fence and run me over. I froze when I saw him and he didn't see me until we were 10 feet apart. I stood motionless and he didn't come unglued, rather turned at the fence and trotted off. I'm pretty sure this is the guy:
The Moultrie D40 doesn't have the fastest trigger. I got a fair amount of hind end shots the way I had it set up at an angle to the trail. At least I'm pretty sure this hind end belongs to a doe. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
When I saw that I had 154 pics over one week (there is a pic counter read out but you can't view the pics on this cam), I almost left it in that spot. Once again, grass blowing in the wind accounted for the majority of the pics. Glad I pulled and moved it.
