Another ? from the north...........broadheads

Another ? for you guys. Started flinging broadheads today. (muzzy 4blade 100gr) 2 arrows with the practice heads were all over the place. One arrow with an actual hunting broadhead flew true every time. I have 3 arrows, all never shot...with a brand new broadhead on them in my quiver. What is my best bet making sure they all fly right. I don't want to dullen the blades on them. Should I pull the heads on them off and tip them with another set of actual hunting broadheads. (I have a couple packs) If they fly right with the heads I shoot them with can I assume they'll fly the same with the brandnew, identical heads????

First make sure they spin true to the arrow shaft.

Basically put your arrow vertical on a table top and spin it, if the blades look like they are wobbling then it is out of tune, if they look like 1 blade when spinning, you are good to go.

If you get good, you can spin them on your index finger and fill the wobble, if no wobble(vibration) you are good to go.

Very hard to explain without showing.

I know G5 makes a arrow/broadhead spin tester which works nice also.

Or if you have a arrow spin tester, put your arrow on it and then put a can of paint or something you can focal your broadhead point on and see how big of a circle it makes around that point. If hardly any circle you are good to go.

To remove wobble, may have to switch arrows or just spin the washer a 1/4 of a turn that comes with most broadheads

I can't speak for the muzzy's because I haven't shot them for several years. Reguardless of the type of broadhead, they need to be spin tested by the company that produced them or by you. Without spin testing each head you wont be able to guarantee they will fly true. If you tune your bow to shoot muzzy broadheads and rest of your muzzy broadheads all spin test true then you wont need to shoot each head. I just bought 6 Magnus Snuffer SS broadheads this week. Each head is spin tested at the factory and guaranteed to spin test true. They also have a lifetime replacement guarantee. I can't give a positive review of the broadhead yet because I am waiting to get my new arrows shafts built before tuning my bow. I will try to post a review in a week or so depending on how long it takes UPS to get the shafts to my door. Hopefully they show up tomorrow!

Sure Steve,
I start to type a response and have to step away from the computer for a minute and then come back to finish my response and you beat me to it.
