Going into the 2024 deer season I didn’t know how much I would be able to hunt if any. Things were going good so I was able to hunt during a few hiccups but I decided to stay close to home except for three days.
Thursday and Friday I did the annual Halloween hunt with my friend. Seen several good young bucks but all in the 100-120 inch range.
This morning I hunted the place that I shot my deer last year and the seventh hunt there this year. I have been seeing deer from the stand and had two deer that I would be happy with.
At straight up 8:00 am I seen this buck across the creek heading my way but I felt he was going to do a 90 degree turn and head east up the feeder creek. I threw him a couple voice grunts as he’s now out of sight and a doe Baa for good measure.
Few seconds pass and he’s coming in to investigate. He came to the creek bank and stood still and he let out a soft grunt then proceeded down the creek trail. I can’t remember if I stop him or not but the next thing the 20 yd pin was on him the arrow sent double lung pass through he ran 60-70 yards and did nose dive in the ground!
This buck I have no history with but elated to take him.
I’ve said this several times but very thankful and blessed.
Best of luck to everyone and enjoy time in the field!
Had a couple grandsons in on the action.
