Anybody else finding morels?

I hear small ones showing up on the sandy bottoms. Will be awhile before the hills start in.

Chris, how's the foot?

Mike

Still sore Mike. After Turkey and shroom season I'll get it taken care of. Are you coming down for the reunion? Let me know.

Chris

Chris,

I won't know for a couple more weeks. I move my kids home from college in May and my son may be scheduled to undergo another medical procedure in Iowa City. I will let you guys know as the time gets closer.

Mike

IAdroptine. Hope your son is ok. If you are in the IA City area, drop me a line, I'm in Coralville. I realize you will probably have more important things going on, but if you have a spare minute, we should get together. Ogz

Ogz, Thanks for the offer. If we end up going in I will give you a call.

Chris, I still hope things work out so I can make it to the reunion, I will know more in a couple weeks.

Thanks, Mike

No, haven't seen much at all...

Wait, I have been up to my rear end this spring in work and haven't had time to look.

Didn't step foot in the wild yet for sheds, shrooms or bother buying a turkey tag...

And people wonder why I am a crank ass lately!!????

The boat is still in storage too! That really isn't helping my usual sunny dispostion!

You can pack a turd with raisins....but it's still a turd.

YES!!! The morels are popping here in NE Iowa.I took a friend out turkey hunting this morning and got him a bird. Then we started mushroom hunting and 3 hours later we ended up with about 5 pounds.Almost all grays with some smaller yellows.Get out and find'em.GOOD LUCK!!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There popping in South-Central Iowa also! Found about a half of a plastic bag full with the magority of them being midsize yellows and a couple being mid-large size greys. They really haven't been all bunched up, they usually were 1-4 in a group with the biggest patch being 10-12 yellows and greys.

Unbeleivable year for morels here in central Nebraska. A friend and I picked for less than an hour today from an area about 20 yards square. We picked 15 lbs. between us.It was the 3rd day in a row like that for both of us. I've never walked away from morels still in site until this last few days. You simply get tired of picking.

Just picked up a dozen today, still a lil slow for me here in central Iowa. Found 8 smaller greys and 4 mid sized yellows. I think we need a lil more rain to soak into the ground and theyll be up everywhere up here.

Goodluck

Grandpa Lyle picked up 3 five gallon buckets FULL of Morels this week and then (get this), he SOLD them for $3 dollars a pound. He made $150 bucks. Then to add insult to injury he didn't give us any, he said "find your own!" To top it off he picked up a nice set of 8 pt. sheds while he was out picking 'shrooms. I asked about getting the sheds from him, I got the same answer, "find your own!" I think he's getting greedy in his old age!
