I have one and im not any to pleased with it. Almost every picture is blurry. Just wondering if it my cam or if its common in low light areas. I'm going to move it into a brighter area to see if it gets better exposure.
Really ticks me off because I bought it on ebay and right on cuddebacks website it says they wont warranty unless you have reciept from one of there dealers

I just got tha no flash cuddeback a week ago. I have only had a few pictures of it so far but I did notice the same blured pictures on some of them. This is the first cuddeback I have used so I would like some posters to let us know if some of the other cuddy models do the same thing.

I purchased an Excite and also noticed movement resulted in a blurry picture. Several other issues showed up after a few weeks in the field - moisture problems, wouldn't always write to CF card, and seemed out of alignment. Mine went back to the store. I have cheaper units that perform better.

I figured this would be the case with the night images since they are using IR leds. I saw this a couple years ago when I was trying the same thing with the D-380's. I didnt expect this from the daytime images though. Do they have a movie mode? If so that would probably be a better choice.

Let us know if they get better?

Mine went on a tree yesterday. My other Cudde that I have been using for a couple of years, will give you a blurred picture once in a while. Most are real clear.

I waited for about 6 months and read all I could about the bugs in the first models.....I hope that they have things worked out now.

I sent my excite back to the store also. After 3 days on the tree, the battery compartment was full of ants and their nest.

The cover was not weather proof. I was happy with the pics thought. Bought a Leaf River 6.3MP and have been very happy with it.

I have been using a no flash for about a month now and yes I get many pictures that are blurry. This is my first trail camera, so I didn't know what was the norm. I guess I figured with the no flash that the pictures take longer to take and many end up blurry. I guess my question is, should I be expecting better? Right now I would say at least half are blurry due to movement.

I am just throwing this out there in response to blurry pics. I use the Cudde 1.3, Cudde 3.0 and a Home Brew P41. When it comes to "moving deer" I have had a blurry pic from all 3 cameras. Maybe the cause for all of your blurry pics is how the camera is positioned. That is a very important part of getting quality pics. Just my opinion.

I have some (Ok, many) of the P-41 cams and rarely if ever get a blurry picture.

On the Cuddebacks though it seems pretty common.

I don't think it has anything to do with camera positioning. Some are crystal clear and some are blurry with the same set-up.

What do you mean?

I knew I didn't describe that very well.

I was referring to the angle that the camera is set up on the trail. It seems that whenever a deer is moving cross screen (left to right or right to left) there is more chance of getting a blurred pic......at least that is what I have seen with my cams. I try to set my cams up to get more pics of deer walking towards or away from the cam.

Again, that was just my guess/opinion that could reduce the # of blurry pics that you get. It has for me, that is all that I know.

With my of 35mm nontypical I can't remember ever getting a blurry picture. I'm sure that with the no flash it has to do with exposure time. If there is not enough light the shutter stays open longer and any movement is going to blurr. This is the worst 400.00 bucks I have ever spent. I just checked again yesterday and all the pictures were blurry again. I guess ill be putting it back on ebay.

That is good to know, because I was thinking about buying one of them. Maybe it would be better for me to just build another home brew??

I have not tried the no flash but I recently bought an EXpert and have nothing but problems with it. It drains the batteries faster than I can get them in there. I have tested it at the house the feild and to make a long story short it is getting sent back.

What happened to the cuddeback? I thought they were the best...

Anybody using any of the new camtrakkers? I used to have a 35mm Camtakker and absolutely loved the thing.

We have four of the older 1.3 cuddebacks and could not be happier. we very seldom get any blurry pictures and the batteries last last about four months during the warm time of the year .
