Well it appears the rattling grunting is fizzling out in my neck of the woods. I had a good run rattling and calling in dozens of bucks but no wallhangers. I have switched to hunting the does, funnels to get a buck. Is anyone having luck otherwise? Please share what is working for you decoy, calling etc.

At this point after hunting hard for weeks doing everything by the book, I just throw up my arms and say I don't know what to do next...

in my area rattling and grunting really didnt work as well as i thought... the best thing i did is move with the does.... we all know where the does are the bucks will be thats where i hunted when i killed my buck... in reality right now your not hunting the bucks your hunting the does and then the bucks will come just my opinion
 
Hey im going to comment this because tonight in ohio a buck was killed by my beset buddy which will gross over 200 inches.. He did not touch a grunt call all night and the only thing he used was a scent drag with estrous on it. It was an 8 point witha kicker on the base 9 point that had a 27 1/2 spread and tines over 14 inches tall.. This is the type of buck u see hanging in cabelas or bass pro magazine. But im only 16 and this guy is about 25 or so but is a close friend. Ive hunted almost everyday this season and could have shot many smaller p&Y deer but pass because i hunt so much and get som many chances, but keep on the calling and [censored] will stir up when rut comes in full swing, everybody needs to look on the internet in the next week or so about this guy and the new pending typical whitetail record for Ohio!!!
