Apple Pollination?

Here is a question for ya. Just how long are fruit tree buds viable for pollination, once they open? What is the length of time they can be pollinated, before they are useless? Just wonderin?

5-7 days typically for an individual flower. With that being said flower buds typically open over a course of 7-14 days on any individual tree. Not all flower buds open at the same time. On a mature, health, tree there may be 10,000 flowers or more in a given year. Even if only 10% of those flowers are pollinated you will have more apples than a tree can support to maturity in a given growing season.

Thanks for that. I know they don't all open at the same time. And,,I know,, I will have more apples than I know what to do with. Most seem to have survived that 19' night a week ago!
