How may of you think we should offer an early archery season such as Nebraska has.
Thier archery season starts three weeks before any other season starts.

well, since Iowa already offers an Archery season only option, I would agree that having an early archery season might be a good thing, however with the poor recruitment rates we have had the last few year, this is a far cry from happening.....

i might take advantage of it then!
:)

I'm not a gun hunter, but I don't think we really need any more separation in any of the turkey seasons. Having the option of hunting the entire season with a bow tag is for than fair enough in my opinion. JMO

I think if there was a chance to get in the hunting woods earlier more hunters might pickup the stick and string.

If you are hunting public land or modertly hunted private land it doesnt take very long for the birds to get call shy or pressured out of the area. So giveng archers a better chance at arrowing a bird, witch may bring more bow hunters into the spring woods.

If it meant not being able to hunt all four seasons like I can now I would be against it........

I see no problem with how they have the season's set up so I voted no also. I would not want them to change the length of the season if they went to an archery only season.

I mean to extend the archery season.

Like Nebraska, its archery season runs from March 25 to May 31 and it gun season last from April 18 to May 31.

Sorry I didnt make that very clear.

Yeah now we're talkin. I'm all in for increasing the front end of the archery while still maintaining it's end. Really though, the birds are just starting to get interested in my neck o the woods. Much earlier and it wouldn't be about calling and finessing but more about ambushing and hoping for the best...which I have no problem with after a long winter without drawing blood in all honesty. :D
