Are they done?

Are the bucks as tall as they are going to get by this time or could they grow a little more?

The time they shed, the time they start new growth, and the time they shed velvet will all vary from buck to buck, area to area.

The vast majority of bucks should be finished growing in a week with peak velvet shedding occurring the first week of September in my area.

I have trail cam pics from last year that had bucks shedding on the 28th of August. I think the deer in my area will start shedding late next week. I will have pics and we will then see.

Here is one of Ryan's (Shredder) pictures from September 8th.

Can't wait to see the first hard antler of this year.

Have seen a lot of growth in the last few weeks on a few bucks I have been watching. Seem to still have that bulb look on the end of their antlers which I hope means more growth. Can't wait to see a few of them in hard horn, that pretty much just signifies the widowing of the wife for the year.

That just looks like it would hurt. Maybe not, may just itch real bad.
