Arrow Wrap ????

I just got my new iowawhitetail.com arrow wraps and I'm pumped to put them on.

My questions are:

#1- Do you need to cut the wraps down to a narrower size for smaller shafts, or is it okay to overlap them?

#2- What adhesive is the best to attach the vanes?

#3- Do they effect arrow flight due to added weight? (I'm assuming they are light enough that it won't.)

Rack dont worry about the overlap, use goat glue, dont worry about the few grains. Most importantly make sure the adhesive side of wrap goes toward the arrow( its not to adhere your vanes to)Oh yea,If I were You, Thank God I'm Not, You might want to start the first wrap at the nock end of arrow and re-apply several wraps end to end so you can find your all white arrows a bit easier

. Best of luck, These things are awsome and I wouldn't hunt without a dipped od wrapped arrow. The heat must have me a bit wound up. Lay the wrap out sticky side up on a hard flat surface and roll the shaft evenly onto the wrap. Another reminder: it would be best if you fletch the arrow AFTER you wrap it and not BEFORE

Gee whiz, I guess I was all mixed up! Everything you said not to do I was doing

I wondered how it was suppossed to work. I kept getting a big wad next to my nock an inch wide and a qaurter inch thick. I didn't realize it was supposed to go on length wise. I guess I had the wrap turned the wrong way.

Now tell me "Ol' Wise One", just what the heck is goat glue?

Its called Goat glue or Goat tough--the stuff really bonds fast and sure, and really works well with wraps.Set up time is less then a minute with AAE vanes. Its avail at all Major sporting goods outlets. Hey, If you are used to using Fletch-tite it works also, just not as fast of a setup time. Cant wait to see the final product.

Sincerely

Hey, who said I was OLD, I just smell that way.

You can trim them or leave them. My ICS 400's where overlapped less than an 1/8" and I noticed no change in arrow flight. Also I use AAE Fastset Jel and they stick better than on the shaft.

i never trimmed my arrow wraps, they fly fine trimmed or overlapped. as far as adhesive, i've never had a problem with any type of glue, be it fletch tite or whatever when putting vanes or featherson the wraps as long as they're clean. now vanes on a bare shaft is a diferent story, go with the goat tuff stuff or fast set glue.

I did a test arrow and used my AAE Fastset Gel that I normally used and it worked great and looks even better. I might trim them a bit on the rest of them because the overlap just barely covers the tips of the antlers on the logo and we wouldn't want to have any antlers covered up. That just wouldn't be prudent!

Just curious Rack, what type of arrow are you shooting?

You guys should post pics of your arrows when you get them done. Would be interested to see them.

Did some 2213's last night and love'em!

Rack, try wrapping from the opposite end (should be bottom first) so that antlers are on top edge of the overlap .

Limb, I'm shooting ACC 3-60.

Ruddbow, If I do that then the iowawhitetail.com gets covered. If I trim an 1/8" nothing will overlap.

I'll post a picture of one tonight if I get time.

And I didn't think crested cedars could be improved
