Well I got one in the sloppy mess Friday morning and just haven't had time to post the pics. It was an interesting hunt, I'd seen several turkeys on a ridge near a picked cornfield but they split up right before dark into two groups and I wasn't sure which group to go after in the morning. I picked the wrong one. I had 3 hens come to the deeks pretty early and what turned out to be a MUCH larger flock stayed about 200-300 yards west of me and wouldn't respond to my calls. Turned out to be several gobblers with a pile of hens. Late morning I decided to give up and move my blind toward their location for an afternoon hunt. When I got over there, I spotted two toms that were hung up on a fence and didn't cross to join the rest of the birds. By some miracle, they didn't see me so I eased over the fence and set up just around the levee of a pond. I was on the side hill of the pond, they were on the back hill of the pond, about 75 yards around the corner from me. After I got my slate dried out from the rainy walk over, I made some clucks and purrs and after about 10 minutes they came cruising around the corner. Once they spotted the pretty boy and hen they were instantly committed and acted like they had a score to settle. 10 yard shot right to the side of the deek. Both turkeys started to run off and then stopped as I was nocking another arrow. Right when I was ready to take a second shot, they both took off running again and by sheer luck, I was able to hit the mark on a runner. I'd hate to have to try that one again. Then I baled out of the blind and ran to make sure it was over, which it was. Talk about a heart stopper. It wasn't the biggest bird in the world, about 3/4 to 1" spurs and a 9" beard but it was my first bowkill turkey so I was excited. Anyway, good luck to all.
