I am looking for input from the pros. I currently shoot Beman ICS 400 Hunters. They are cut to 28 inches. When trying to paper tune last fall the only good cuts came after the poundage was maxed out on my bow somewhere around 73lbs. I have just backed my weight back to 63lbs for spring turkey hunting and this is back on my mind. Should I consider changing the length of my arrow or switching to an arrow that is spined differently? If switching is recommended any suggestion for arrow brand, weight, length. OneCam already suggested shooting the same arrow with at a longer length.

Also I want to buy a carbon arrow cutter. Any suggestions on this purchase would also be appreciated.

Ironwood, I have one of the Apple cut-off saws. It works great! That said, I know some of the guys on Archery Talk have been buying a cut-off saw from Harbor freight for alot less $$ and making their own.

What did you back your poundage down for mike? Just kidding. Use a shocker point behind your broadhead. I'm shooting Easton 2315's 29.5 inches, 450 grain arrow with a 150 grain broadhead 600 grain TOTAL! at 70 pounds. Bringing the thunder! Go into CIA and grab the arrow bucket and try a bunch of different arrows out. I will meet you over there if you want. check out the easton arrow tune charts also at www.eastonarchery.org or build a arrow at www.goldtip.com You may need to try a few different combinations to get it right. Are you still using your Trophy Taker?

I am still using the Trophy Taker Supert. Man show a little weakness and they jump on ya and start pecking your head off. I would enjoy shooting some from the bucket at CIA. Lunch one day soon.

Ironwood,
Type in Mini Cut Off Saw into an E-bay search and see what you come up with. I bought one a couple years ago for 35 bucks, slightly used. Works great.

Mike I ran your setup on the archery program that I have and based on 63 pounds, 450 grain arrow, 28" draw, you are shooting a havoctec right? 38" Axel to Axel, 7.375 Brace Height. Here are few suggestions for ya:

Beaman ICS Venture 340's
Easton ACC 3-60
Beaman Matrix 340's
These should work great for that above setup!

This was figured using a 100 grain tip with a 28" arrow. Give me your exact setup and I will calculate it more exactly for ya.

31.5 Axel to Axel other wise you have it on the money. Brady memtioned you've spoken and he thought the arrows I am currently using are right on the money. Beman ICS 400's cut at 28 inches. I don't really know that the arrow is an issue. The guys at the proshop say no.
