Artic Shield Boot Insulators

Just picked up some Arctic shield boot insulators. Anybody have ane experience with them? I have always had trouble keeping my feet warm when I am on stand for more than a couple hours in cold weather. Am hoping these will help.

You will really enjoy them. Just make sure you don't wait too long to put them on. They keep your heat in great. The glove system is also a great investment.

Like Limb said, put them on right away or they won't help much. They are a pain to put on once your in your stand to.Worth the money on sub zero day's.

Did you get the new style ones (zipper in the back and a drawstring at the top)? I picked up a pair those and thought they were very easy to put on and take off on the stand.

Glad to hear most of you liked these. Just picked up a pair 2 weeks ago. It's always hard for me to spend money on cold weather gear when I'm not going to use it for several months. Glad I got 'em though.

I bought a pair this year after hunting season go over. Hopefully they will work well, because there were a couple of days when my feet froze!!!

Firedog and IA,

Neither of you will be disappointed you bought them! I have wussy feet and these are the only things I have found that will allow me to sit in stand when it's cold. I've gone through many differt boots, different sock combos and nothing has helped until I got these. They are bulky, but well worth it!

Just put them on right when you get to your stand and your good to go. They will retain the heat your feet just put off walking to your stand. Don't take them off unless your ready to pack it in for the day. The second your feet get cold...it's too late.

Good luck

The old style (pre 2004) with the velcro strap at the top were bulky, but the new style with the vertical zipper at the heel and a drawstring at the top have virtually no bulk and fold up almost flat. I was amazed at the difference after having seen the old style. I used to use IceBreaker Boot Blankets (..talk about bulky!!) until I saw the new style ArcticShield boot covers. Tested them out last season and was really glad I made the switch. I think ArcticShield got some feedback on the noise of the velcro and the bulk of the old style boot covers and made some refinements.

Here some info on the new style:

Ditto to what Nebraska said. The new style with the rear zipper are much easier to get on, and less noise too. Neither style is as warm as the Icebreaker Boot Blankets but those are bulkier to carry. I would say the Icebreakers are twice as warm and four times harder to carry. If anybody wants a cheap pair of those I have some in the classifieds. Icebreakers Sorry for the cheap spam...

Fellas,

I have a pair of both of them(the non-velcro style). The pair Timber is talking about and the pair Nebraska is talking about. Here's my take on them. My feet won't last in the pair Nebraska linked you to. I told you I had crappy feet. LOL Not to mention, I'm not a fan of the material they are made out of and in my opinion are too loud. For gun hunting, not a problem...but I bow hunt 99% of the time and just don't like them. I bought them a couple years ago, so they might be made out of some different type of material now. So I guess you'll have to check them out to make sure. The other style is very bulky and not the easiest to pack, but that's an easy thing to overcome for me. Either I wear them when it's cold or I'm sitting in the truck NOT hunting. Easy decision on my part. ha, ha
