ATV Incident in Cedar County
An Evansdale man has died of injuries suffered in an ATV incident in Cedar County.
A search was begun for 19 year old Nick Herman, at dusk Sunday, after he was reported missing.
Herman was using an ATV as he removed tree stands from an area near the town of Buchanan. At some point during the day, the vehicle rolled atop him causing fatal injuries.
The incident is still under investigation. It is not a hunting incident.
Multiple agencies assisted with the incident including the Iowa DNR, Iowa State Patrol, Cedar County Sheriff, Conservation Board and Emergency Management team as well as the Tipton, West Branch, Mechanicsville and West Liberty fire departments.
