Awesome encounter

Last night i sat up on a well worked scrape line. I brought my rattling horns and my buck decoy. At 6:00 I started my first rattling sequence. About 15 min. later i see a decent buck coming up the scrape line. He was a 10 pt. probably around 120". He hit the first scrape and continued in my direction. He got to the scrape that is closest to my stand and started working it.From that scrape he must not of noticed my decoy between me and the scrape but he sure did when I hit the grunt call. His head came up and here he came with ears pinned back. He stopped about 20 yrds from the decoy and started pawing the ground like a bull. He did exactly what I figured he would do when he started circling down wind.He stared for a little bit and pawed some more but he never would attack. The way he was acting I figured he was gonna clobber it. Not the deer I'm after but a awesome encounter.

Gotta love that !
I've been waiting to try out my new Renzo buck decoy. I won't get out again until Nov. 11th.

I would love to see something like that. Did you get any video of him?

I didn't take my video camera that night because it was raining. I do have video of a buck 2 yrs. ago that did the same thing. I've also got video of bucks plowing it over. I've been using the same decoy for 5 years now and it's been through hell. One ear and one hind leg has wood screws to hold them on. About time for a new one.I'm sure most of you have tried decoys but for those of you who hasn't, they can be deadly with rattling horns.
