Awesome time in the treestand

Yesterday afternoon was an awesome day in the tree. First of all let me tell you we did NOT fill a tag, but we still had a great time. I was hunting and Alicia was filming; a cold front brought in cooler temperatures, and we thought the deer would be on their feet.

Nothing was moving early, until around 5pm. A big 160 + came out, but he ignored my rattling sequence. Unfortunately, Alicia couldn't get him on film, he was in the camera's blind spot with one of our packs in the way. He was followed by a smaller deer, a fork.

About 30 minutes later, I rattled in a yearling six point, which came right below our feet. Alicia had the camera pointed straight down, and caught the buck at point-blank range. He trotted down into a gully grunting all the way, and she captured all of that on film too. Then two button bucks came out, and trotted & meandered around. Needless to say, we had an exciting afternoon & got some great footage. As I was waiting for Alicia to get down, I looked out into the cornfield and saw a giant B&C walking across it. There wasn't enough light to film, but we both got out of there unnoticed. Maybe one of us will connect with that bruiser soon!

i hear you KANSAN. these past 2 days here have been phenomenal. last night i had a shooter come in from downwind and get nervous with my supprescent on. today was the best i've had in a LONG time. saw 5 shooters today and one over 150. didn't get a real great look at him other than he has phenomenal G3's. they are really responding to rattling around me and hopefully tomorrow is the day!!
