awesome...

Can someone tell me why I'm not surprised to see this was in Utah? I'm actually more surprised it hasn't happened in Arizona yet.

Yes, it will be interesting to see if anything comes of this.
I too wondered about the logic of this approach.
Not surprised about it occurring in Utah? I know, right? But if not there, where? Sorry Utah, you guys just have it like that.
I'm sure some people will use this as an example of "irresponsible gun ownership" but more on this in a minute.
BW is correct about muzzle discipline, and that would fall under the heading of irresponsible.
When I fist saw this I was slightly amused and even a little emboldened. Then I thought some more about it and kind came around to Gundogs way of thinking.
But after having read your posts on this, I wonder (this is not a rhetorical question) what really is wrong with what this guy did? He didn't break any laws, didn't threaten or menace anyone per se and aside from from the faux pas of not concealing his weapon, he didn't really do anything wrong.
Now, I understand what PromiseLand is saying however, why do people who oppose gun ownership get to decide where we take them? Admittedly , it would be a little unnerving to see that at the mall but no more so than seeing a large group of drunk bikers in the same place.
The point I'm trying to make is that I think maybe we should be sticking up for this guy. After all, the old saying goes, "first they came..."
If you don't know that saying I can spell it out later
If I'm off base on this one, let me know

I can see where a lot of people will freak out from this, however, in a way, he is proving a good point, IMO(other than proper muzzle awareness).. " Here I am. This is my rifle. I am a law abiding citizen exercising my rights doing nobody any harm." I think they even said he called the police the day before to say he was going open carry.

I wouldn't like to be the guy standing next to him with where that is pointed
Look at the gun deer harvest photos on-line and unfortunately, most of the people laying a gun on the deer has it pointed at them more than the dude in this pic.

In the pic I see, it's not pointed at the guy in the foreground.

I am a second amendment supporter through and through. I think if everyone carried a firearm, what the guy did what be nothing out of the ordinary, but we are not at that point. I think a concealed hand gun of his choice would bring him the same protection without all the attention.

Yes, he did nothing wrong in my eyes or most any responsible gun owners eyes. Problem is, the current law makers are not on the "same page" as the rest of us.
