BAD Legislation !!!

Cornfed

Bowhunting Addict
I just read on another website that yesterday the Illinois Governor signed a bill into law that would transfer the Illinois deer herd under local government control.

That sounds like a real sportsmans nightmare..... no longer will the Dept. of Natural Resources have statewide control over hunting. I hope it is not true but it seemed to be from a reliable source linked to the Sportsman's Alliance.

If ever there was a time to join the IBA it is NOW!!!! We must do everything we can to not allow such legislation to ever pass here in Iowa.

Has anyone else seen or heard anything about this?

When you think about the implications this could have for Illinois hunting it is crazy. I mean can you imagine how screwed up the game laws will become in various parts of the state.

Tag fees will be all over the place.... in some areas it will probably help the local residents and in others it will definately hurt. If you live in Kane county or some of the other bowhunting only counties near Chicago, you had better enjoy hunting this fall... because who knows what kind of mess it will be next year once the local city governments take over
