Des Moines police have called for animal control officers this morning to help corral a deer on Waterbury Circle.
The buck has batting cage netting wrapped around its antlers. Police say the buck was apparently going through the yard of a home in the west-side neighborhood early this morning when it became tangled in the netting.
It got free by ripping up the stakes holding the netting and now is wandering the neighborhood with netting and stakes hanging from its antlers.
Police were alerted about 7 a.m. and had tracked the deer, which had been walking up and down the street, to a back yard shortly before 8 a.m.
