Best $30ish trail camera

I have a mixed bag of older non-cullular "cheap" trail cameras that are quickly failing. Looking to buy a bunch of cheap cameras to cover a lot of area without cell cam bills. What do you all recommend for best bang for buck in cheap non-cullular trail cameras based on longevity, battery life, picture quality, etc?

I run my cuddlink L cams as non-cell. Check one camera & check them all. I really like it. Zero cell expense. They run about $130 so maybe more than what you are inquiring about.

Stealth cam & Moultrie have some in the $70-80 range. I think Tasco has one for $40.

If you are patient you can find brownings for 60-70 each. That's what I've been doing but thinking about starting to swap them for cuddelinks.

Natchez flyer I got has several trail cameras on sale. One is marked down to $24. I have a one I got at Walmart a couple years ago for $25 and it works fine for what I need it for.

I have a couple of these from different batches. Great sensitivity, one catches vehicles on the road at 100 yards and the pics are clear. Battery life is phenomenal. Only problem is that they juggle the time stamp while deployed. I haven't bought one in a while. Have they fixed that?

Date changes (jumps around) while deployed is that what you mean?

IMO - Not knocking your plan, but more money spent on more cheap cameras will just arm you with more cheap cameras failing..

I'd rather have 2 Reconyx cameras than 10 cheap cameras that work some of the time, missing some of the movement and fail on a regular basis.

My .02..
I have never owned Reconyx and probably never will due to cost. But I have not found any difference in longevity between $30 cameras and $150 cameras. They all last about 3 years and start failing for me.

I always have a few places where cheap or starting to fail cameras come in handy. Checked one such cam yesterday, great spot where deer cross a road. Cam is about 20 yards off a lightly traveled road on private ground. Someone decided to shoot it in the past week and destroy it. Love the spot but can’t really afford to put a cell cam in spots like this.

I can speak for reconyx if you have never tried one u will be impressed! I have 4 from 10 yrs old to 2yrs old all work perfect !! Just keep taking great pics and dont miss animals!! I will say my cellular one takes all the photos to the chip in the camera but sometimes i do not get all the pics from the cellular service! I have seen deer infront of my cam on a food plot and next day when pics download im missing some pics! But they are on the chip in camera ! So its the service not sending all pics !! I have heard same thing happens with alot of the cams out there??? But the cameras just keep on working!

I've noticed this with my reconyx cell too. It also seems like the only cell cam that the deer visibly investigate/get skiddish around. Anyone else notice? I dont know why. I have three different brand cell cams on a popular field as a sloppy experiment, and almost every time I sit it I see the deer react to it. The other cams they dont even acknowledge. Even the Cudde J's that "click". None of the cams have been touched since June and are all on set treated posts in the open field, so it's not like one is hid and one isn't.

Not a nock, just interesting I think. Sorry to derail the convo!
