Best Camera?

I have not gotten into the trail cam craze much yet and was wondering what everyone considers to be the best/most reliable camera out there? Thanks

I actually prefer the homebrews over commercial units...you can customize homebrews to your liking. I'll let other folks chime in on the retail units as my experience with them is rather limited.

Best bang for my buck is the Moultrie Gamespy 200 3.1. Pics aint bad and it is only like 150.00. Only downside is these babies are sloooooow.

I'll second Shredder on this but you can do it pretty cheap if you want. I heard Bass Pro was advertizing the Moultrie 1.3 for $69. That is cheap and if you put it over bait it should give fair pictures.

I'm a homebrew man myself but I'll have to admit that a couple friends have bought 4.1 moultrie digitals from cabelas this summer for $149.

I'll have to admit I'd be hard pressed to make a 4.1 megapixel home built for that price.

Cabela's 4.1 Digital Scouting Cam

Moultrie Game Spy 100 sucks.
Moultrie Game Spy 200 is our best.
Cuddybacks are suposed to be good but we have not used them. Overall, I would go with the 200, true though it is a little slow.

I only run one camera. It's a Leaf River, and I love it. Quick trigger speed, and high quality pictures.

Where can I find the instructions for making a homemade deer camera?

I have a Moultrie game spy 200 and like it very much. The only downfall I don't like is the 2 - 3 second trigger speed. The picture quality, picture imprinting and battery life is exceptional.

hagshouse.com You'll find everything you need right there. You can build one just like that Leaf River Camera mentioned above.

I recently bought a Moultrie 2.1 (walmart spedial for $98 and a StealthcCam 2.0 to try them out. Moultrie lasts longer off six C batteries, but the SteathCam appears to be a little quicker (slightly less than two seconds trigger speed). Both take great pictures, but I have problems situating the Moultrie to get good shots down trails. Setting perpendicular to the trail does not work well if deer continually move (see lots of back half of deer. Both good options, and cheap.
