Best climbing stick?

What is the best 20' climbing stick (stacking type) on the market? I've used a few, just can't find one that is worth buying multiples of. Key points would be: # of sections (4-5' sections would be great), good straps (a ratchet strap or two would be nice), sections locking together with D rings.

The would be for hang-ons that would stay in the field for +/- three years.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I am completely obbsessed with the Lone Wolf climbing sticks! They are light and fit together nice for carrying in. And the fact that you can buy them in single, two, three and four piece sets is awsome!

Beat me to the punch...would have a hard time using anything else unless I was putting them up for good and leaving them there forever.

I'm sure the LW sticks are probably the best quality but I like to leave mine out the entire season or even for good so I just buy the ones they sell at Menards. 3 or 4 stick section (can't recall) and I think they sell for about $30-50 depending on when you get them. They keep lowering the price once season starts. If $$ weren't a factor I'd probably do LW but since I can rig up about 5 stands for the price of 1, I use these instead. I have thought about getting 1 set of LW though for the purpose of setting up a last minute stand during season. The packability seems very worthy of having a set in the arsenal.

I don't think there's much difference between all the cheap climbing sticks other than how they attach to the tree. Some are easy, some make me want to kill someone. I have about a dozen sets where I just have the stand in the tree and I carry in LW sticks. Takes me 10 minutes to get completely set up and I'm hunting.

I have all sorts of permanent sets also, and rarely use them anymore. Would just prefer to carry the LW sticks in, makes it that much harder for someone to get in my stand and also I can get much higher up in the tree than most standard sticks with 4 LW sticks.

I do leave a few out all year just because I have them. Of those I think the Rivers Edge sticks are very nice too. Finally, if you can't afford the LW sticks, the gorilla sticks aren't bad, you can pick up 4 of them for about 40-50 dollars, about 7 lbs. heavier for the entire stack to carry in and out. I have a set of these, don't use them as much as the LWs but have carried them in plenty of times.
