Big Boys Up and Moving

Last night I hunted a stand on a good scrape line and had 3 different bucks over 130" approach. The first was at about 4:45, a nice 140-150" 10 point, but I couldn't find an opening to thread an arrow through so I had to let him walk. The second buck was rougly a 130" 8-point that I had passed on a couple weeks ago so I let him walk again. The third buck was a giant, I have never seen a deer with the mass of this buck. He was a main frame 10 with several large kickers off of his right main beam. I would guess the buck to be in the 180" range. He needed to take about 5 more steps for my shooting lane but he never did step forward.

Well after my adventures last night I headed back out this morning and saw 8 bucks and 8 does before 11:00. Only one shooter, the same 140-150" buck from last night but he stayed at 60 yards or more the entire time. Hopefully tonight my luck will change.

You're definately seeing a-lot more than I am right now. Last night I had a button buck bumping a mature doe around my stand for a few minutes, and right before it was too dark to see anything I had a 1 1/2 year old forkie come through checking the scent trail of some does that passed by earlier. We've still got over half the corn in around my area, I'm guessing that's where a-lot of the deer are remaining at right now.

i was havving great luck this past week,. have sean the same 12 point the last mornings and i went out this morning and i move my stand to where he normal came in to the cut out in the timber and used it as a pass way bout 20 yards form the trail and i went there this mroing and i have a guy about 50 yards from me into the timber so if i did see him it would be dead but i never heard the guy shoot or see him but i did leave for 1030.... and i took my stand with me and move locations sometimes i hate public ground.....

I'm with ya on that Iowabuckhunter, I also hunt public land and feel the same way. But I have shot some nice deer on public ground.
