Iowa Boy At Heart
Once again, Tony comes through for a home-sick Iowa boy! I had to leave town Thursday afternoon because I was volunteering as a mentor/guide at the NWTF/AGFD youth turkey hunt camp south of town here. My wife called me that afternoon to let me know the morels that Tony sent down had arrived. She cleaned them and split them and stored them in the fridge for my return from turkey hunting. I got back Saturday around lunch time, just in time to get unloaded, cleaned up and off to my daughter's birthday party. After 10 hours of sleep in 2 days and countless miles hiked those days without enough food/water, I crashed hard Saturday night. Last night, we grilled some ground sirloin and I fixed up half of the 2 dozen shrooms Tony sent. There are no words sufficient enough to describe that sensation! Even my daughter ate a few, which made me even happier. Simply saying "Thank You" to Tony does not do any justice, but THANK YOU, Tony!! I'm forever in your debt!
