BioLogic products for whitetail food plots?

I'm working on food plot plans for this year. Has any one in Iowa tried BioLogic blends for whitetail food plots? I checked their website and they have quite a few varieties: Bio-Mass, Clover Plus, New Zealand Fall Attractant, Premium Perennial Blend, Full Draw and Summer Management Blend. The nutritional data they provide looks interesting. I'd like to know how this stuff does in Iowa soils and climate and is it really any better than alfafa and ladino clover? Anyone do any side by side tests to see how Iowa whitetail respond?

I tried the New Zealand summer blend and did not have great results it was about 3 years ago.which was a dry year. The soil was prepared properly and Ph was good. The strange thing was that it did well on the field edges under the shade of trees. This was planted in bottom land along Avery creek close to your area.

I intended to try a small 1/4 plot of the New Zealand Premium Perennial. I would be interested know if anybody has had any experience with that particular variety.

Larry,
I have been planting food plots on a piece of property in southern Iowa for the last five years. Two years ago we tried planting Biologic Bio Mass on one plot and Alfa Rack on another. Both plots are about 5 acres in size and soil samples were taken and sent to a lab. We added pellime. The alfa rack turned out great but the biologic was not so hot. I am not completly sure why but suspect that this blend was not as drought tolerant as the alfa rack. I have talked to others who have done well with the biologic varieties. We sent some plant samples to a lab and the digestible protien was near 25 %. I don't know how this compares to alfalfa and clover varieties from the local coops. Hope this helps.

Because of Steve Hanson's comment I've decided to simply use the seed I have as part of my nurse crop on some buffers strips that we're putting in. I'll try and crowd that seeding near the field edge and a shady canopy.
