BLAZE ORANGE LAW!!!!!!!

i am sure that ya'll have heard enough about the blaze orange crap but please read my post and express your opinion! thanx! i am just voicing my opinion, don't want to make anyone mad! here in ohio we have been required to atleast wear a blaze orange vest for quite some time now as far as gun hunting goes(with the exception of turkey). i personally feel that more needs to be added to the bill! i think they should add that you should be required to wear blaze orange as you make your approach to your deerstand and turkey set up when approached during the morning! i myself where balze orange on all of my approaches. the reason i do and the reason i feel it should be a law is because of this story. back when i was 16 my best friend, my dad, and i went turkey hunting one morning and we split up on a 200 acre farm. just as daylight started to break i heard a gunshot coming from my best friends location. i assumed he had taken a turkey that had flew down off the roost. i sat there waiting for him to come over the hill carrying his turkey instead about 5 minutes later all i heard was screams for help! i immedietly took off running in his direction and when i got there there was a man nealing beside my friend. my friend had been shot in the face with buckshot! my friend had not quite made it to his location when a flock of turkeys had come off the roost, this guy had picked him out a tom and as unfortunate luck would have it the bird was on a slight incline and as my friend topped the little knoll he stopped and saw the turkeys and froze then about 5 seconds later this man shot once again hitting my friend in the face at about 25 yards! my friend has been blind in both eyes ever since! also 2 guys have been shot in the last 2 years here with a bow before daylight, just some idiot hunters out there shooting at movement. now i don't blame the man for shooting my friend, it would have been very hard to see him at that time in the morning. and the man who shot my friend did basically commit his hole life to helping my friend around, so therefore his life has changed also, and to this day he has never hunted since that day. also 2 hunters have been killed here with a bow during there approach to their stand, all because of idiot hunters out there shooting at movement in the dark. so really this law hits home to me. i want ya'll to think about something also: each time a hunter walks into the woods and accidently gets shot, think about how bad that makes us hunters look, it fuels the fire for anti-hunting groups! they can easily say "see if you hadn't even been hunting that poor defensless little animal you wouldn't have got shot". besides blaze orange doesn't efeect the deer seeing you anyways, no matter what some people might tell you! this is not a post to make you mad it's just me looking out for the other hunter and wanting all hunters to be safe!plus i also think that the dnr pushes it so much so that it doesn't make them look bad, can't really blame them though!

i think my thoughts on this have been made obvious, but i'll toss them out again. it is DEFINATELY wise to wear orange when in the field, especially when guns are involved. most of the land i hunt (deer bow, and turkey) is private land, and no other hunters should be there, therefore, i shouldn't be fined if i don't choose to wear it.

wearing orange is a very good idea, but to make it a LAW? no way

Law or no law, doesn't matter to me. Like teeroy said it's a good idea. Bottom line is.......damn am I glad that I have on average 2-3000 acres to myself. I can't imagine someone sticking an arrow in me on my way to the stand, 1 hunter per section is enough for me. I hate crowds.

I can see someone gettign shot with a shotgun but people getting shot with arrows????Sorry, but that would be very poor judgement on an archers part, orange or no orange.

wearing blaze orange is a "no brainer" not wearing it is like a NYC cop on third shift not wearing a bullet proof vest, i never ever go into the woods with a gun with out orange, and if i get shot at with it on the other person needs to be prepared for a volley his/her way, (could have a flash back)
