Bobcats

I haven't heard much talk on any bobcat sightings,just the one from Kty. or Tenn. personaly I've seen one this spring here in Iowa. Give it up, I know a few of you have had to run across one.

I had one walk by a couple of weeks ago in Monona County. But I do see them quite often so it is getting to be no big deal for me. I am waiting to see one with a long tail, all I have seen is the tracks.

We saw a bobcat about a month ago in Lucas county. It stopped about 25 yards away,I was suprised at it's size and how powerful it looked. Just as soon not have them critters roaming the woods...looks like they would put a hurtin' on everything in the woods.

I had one checking out my turkey decoy a couple weeks ago. I am in North Central/East Kansas. Actually, I saw it crossing the field and yelped. It started circling downwind and getting a little closer. It was at about 80 yards when it hit my scent, dropped to the ground and took off. Pretty cool.

Are they protected in Kansas or is there a season on them?

You can hunt bobcats in KS from the middle of Nov. through the middle of Feb. I couldn't have shot him, but it was kind of earie to have him stalking me.
