Body odors and the food we eat

I think we can all identify the importance of scent control when bowhunting. I've read a ton of things that state you should watch what you eat before you take the stand, ie.. garlic and such. Makes sense, but where I'm confused are what are the right foods and how long prior to taking the stand should or shouldn't you eat ? I've heard there are pills that will neutralize the body's odor.Any info would be appreciated

Doritos, Salsa and Busch Lt have always done well for me. Using the wind helps a little to.

I think the food we eat plays a big roll in how we smell. I think what we do, our professions have just as important a roll as food consumption. I am a veterinarian that examines dogs, cats, horses and cattle on a daily basis. I am exposed to all they're scents daily, some of which are hard to wash off not counting the drugs, cleansers and topical medications I use. I have to be a stickler about scent for that reason most importantly. Look at mechanics and the oils, grease, and solvents they use.....People that are exposed to second hand cigarette smoke, buisiness men with theyre cologne and aftershave etc. The list goes on and on with the millions of jobs out there.I guess the people that have it made are folks that work in feed mills, people who make scent lok clothing or scent eliminators or deer farmers.......More to think about than just the food we eat.

Never thought about that Shredder.

I guess there wouldn't be nothin' better than to smell like a big ol' corn cob while on stand!

Nothing like smelling of apple pie in an oak timber.

Part time hunters vs. full time survivors.

Id rather be in the woods smelling like gasoline, than behind the mower.

Someone told me once that if you eat pastrami that it will help keep mosquitoes away due to the pastarami smell passing through your sweat glands.

never thought of the food we eat keeping mesquito's away. I thought they were attracted by the CO2 that we exhale. I have tried holding my breath as much as possible while turkey hunting on some trips. If that really works will have to try that approach. Not a big fan of stinky bug spray.
