Boot Care products?

Hi Guys,

I just bought a pair of Danner Pronghorns for very cheap. They are used and show signs of wear (though, a seller said they only wore them 3-4 times). The toe leather is worn down.

So, They look like they could use some polishing and some leather protectant of some kind.

My worry is that whatever I use on them won't be scent free. I might plan on using these for a hunting boot.

What do you guys recommend I use from a product standpoint?

I've hear Obenaufs is a good product. The only problem is no stores near me carry it (far as I know anyways.).

Obenaufs is a GREAT product as is White's Boot Grease. I typically use White's Boot Grease on my fire boots, but have used it on all of my boots. Obenaufs is the same thing and is just as great. I've also used Oregon Trail leather treatment on several boots and I just saw that they make a scent-free version:

Whatever you do, do NOT use an animal-based treatment like mink oil. That stuff will degrade the stitching and the seams, causing your boots to fall apart prematurely as well as remove any water-proofness they had. Thankfully, I had some really strike mentors in the wildfire world to guide me along when I got my first pair of fire boots.

I'm not sure where you're at, but a lot of Harley Davidson dealers carry Obenaufs. It smells a little like honey at first, but it goes away pretty fast. I've used it on all my boots for years and I love it.
